Eden IOP philosophy
At Eden we understand that eating disorders are complicated illnesses that require expert care by a multidisciplinary team of professionals. We strive to treat every client and family that comes to us with compassion and respect. We are committed to supporting clients through a full continuum of care, balancing the need for structure with the need for clients to integrate into their lives and families as they become able to do so. At all levels of care, our treatment programs and interventions are guided by our core values of Hope, Respect, Creativity, and Effectiveness (see Core Values).
Eating Disorders Intensive Outpatient Program (EDIOP)
Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) is specifically designed to provide specialized and individualized treatment to people who struggle with eating disorders and co-occurring mental health diagnoses. Our IOP takes place in our conveniently located Las Vegas offices and offers programming for adult women who have eating disorder diagnoses. Our clients are people who require greater support than can be provided by an outpatient team, but are stable enough that a high level of structure and supervision is not required. Our program is also appropriate for clients who are “stepping down” from a residential or partial hospitalization program and require monitoring and support as they integrate back into their daily lives.
Eden’s EDIOP operates five days per week and offers up to fifteen hours of group programming per week. Clients in IOP attend at least three days and up two five days a week, and may attend either morning or afternoon sessions. Each session includes a supervised meal and snack and additional supportive meal planning to help clients navigate the hours away from programming. One individual therapy session, and one session with a Registered Dietician are included in the program. Family therapy sessions once a week are included whenever appropriate. In addition to supported meals, IOP clients attend two groups per day. Group sessions include Process Group, DBT, Trauma-informed yoga, Hypnotherapy, Body Acceptance and Relapse Prevention, and are facilitated by licensed professionals.
To enroll in the program clients must be assessed by a physician and deemed to be medically stable. Additionally, all clients attending the program must be evaluated by a psychiatrist to confirm that they are appropriate for this level of care.
